11 Heaven

泰 Tài ¦¦¦|||

(The bathroom of an empty bar.)

Heaven.
This is heaven.
Heaven is coming.
Heaven is here in my hands.

(Holds out bag.)

No…
Heaven is now.
Don’t be a dick and start calling this heaven…
Sorry God, sorry God, sorry God…
Heaven is knowing that heaven is coming..
oh shit, I should write this down.

No.
Stay in the now.
Don’t be a prick and stay in here forever.
Sorry y’all, sorry y’all, sorry y’all …

(Pulls out key.)

God,
People are waiting and someone is coming
to… shit, I should do this now.

Yes,
heaven is knowing that heaven is coming
and when it arrives …

(Paranoid.)

What’s that?

(Turns water on.)

If heaven is knowing that heaven is coming
then when it arrives
it’s no longer coming…

(Key into bag. Inhale powder.)

And if heaven is here and it’s no longer coming
then all that you’re doing is waiting and knowing
that heaven is going away.

(Quick bump.)

How to stay?

The key is to never arrive;
always be on your way.

Heaven.
This is heaven.
No one is out there.
Heaven says I can do more.

It’s like it’s saying that it wants me closer.
It’s calling me, promising this is our secret.
Heaven is watching the door..

What’s that?
Ha!

(Running water.)

Heaven is knowing that you’re taken care of…
God’s turned on the water
so no one can hear you.
Yes, heaven is knowing God likes what you’re doing
God’s keeping your secret
so you can keep going,
keep hiding,
keep seeking.
Take note of the signs: when water is leaking
bumps can be lines,
cause God’s saying you are OK OK.

And that’s heaven.

(Snort.)

This is heaven.

(Snort.)

Heaven is coming.
Heaven cannot go.

(Finish bag.)

Gone.
It’s fine.
I’ll get more.
