A band of angels comin’ after me.
Their feathered wings did drag them down.
I laughed as I watched them drown.

A band of devils comin’ after me.
Their leathery wings did flounder round.
I laughed as I watched them drown.

I jumped in the river and what did I see
A lonely woman comin’ after me.
The water soaked her wedding gown.
She grabbed my neck and we drowned.

Under the water the world turned blue.
You held my hand with your little fingers
and my heart… (sigh)

We jumped in the river and what did we see
An angry father climbin’ up a tree.
As he took aim with a loaded gun
We sank like stones and flew towards the sun.
